Parking Meters are big business today.
Years ago, drivers simply plopped their quarters into the slot – roughly calculated what to pay – then trundled on down the street.
It was a common site to witness a business man excusing himself from an interview to hastily run outside to plug some coins into the slot before the [...]

Occasionally, a film happens along and touches you in a magical way.
“Eve & the Fire horse” is just such an offering.
In the opening scenes – screened at the Fine Arts Theatre in recent weeks – the filmmakers introduce the audience to two innocents (sisters) being raised in a humble Chinese household where the rituals of [...]

I’m back…
Hillary is sending out missives again across the Internet via e-mail.
Under the auspices of HILLPAC – Hillary is the Honorary Chair – the aggressive former VP Candidate is urging that voters focus on “sixty” as a magic number in the next two weeks.
In her own words, this is what Hillary had to say:
Dear Julian:
If [...]

John McCain inadvertantly revealed, yesterday, that he’s not confident he’s going to win the Presidential Race when the ballots are tallied in November.
At a rally a scant few hours ago, the doubts became evident, when the presidential hopeful was inclined to preface a promise with four little ominous words: “If I become President”.
Before he could [...]

A growing number of residents in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills are out-and-about in the neighborhood these days with their dogs in tow.
Some own two or three dogs, which I find excessive.
But, as long as they have the space – and properly care for the animals – it is of no consequence to me.
Unfortunately – [...]

After a tough day of blogging, I slipped into Starbucks for a short Misto.
“Lots of foam, please,” I teased the cute young staffer, as I flopped into a big easy chair.
A screenwriter (just an acquaintance) sat with his head buried in his Mac as he struggled over turns-of-phrases and plotlines that obviously zig-zagged this way [...]

On a morning talk show a disc jockey earned kudos for his patience in dealing with a combative call-in guest on the live broadcast.
When a voter resides in a specific area of the country, he or she tends to become keenly familiar with differing points of view on key political and social issues.
But, after I [...]

With much anticipation, I awaited the screening of the feature film, “Lions for Lambs”; after all, the buzz prior to its slated release hinted that it would be the cinematic event of the year.
After elbowing my way through the crush of excited filmgoers at Mann’s Chinese Theatre, I slipped into my seat anxious for the [...]
