As you head in from the desert, the picturesque rugged mountains that rim the valley fall out of view, and ahead the city of Las Vegas sits like a sparkling gem in the dazzling mid-day sun.
On the strip there is a buzz in the air.
Tourists gobble up the eye-candy as they snap photos furiously – [...]

When I was at the West Hollywood Book Fair last week, I stumbled across the booth for the environmental activists – “Heal the Bay” – founded by nature-lover Dorothy Green (how apropos).
For blog action day (October 15th) I was planning to pen a post on the worthwhile contributions “Heal the Bay” has made to the [...]

Yesterday, a couple of patrons at McDonald’s were having difficulty communicating with an employee at the fast-food outlet, when a problem arose in the throes of chowing down on their Egg McMuffins.
It appears to be a simple matter for counter staff to key in the number assigned to an order, punch in the cost, and [...]

Bird in the hand worth two signatures in the bush…
Ringo Star has posted a notice on his web site announcing that he will no longer sign “ringed one” memorabilia – or mementoes from the Beatle era for that matter – as of October 20th.
Why?
Mr. Star has been whining to anyone within earshot that he’s too [...]

I checked with the staff at the ticket office, and they informed me that Box Office for the CineVegas Film Festival this year was boffo.
A number of features were either booked fully or sold to near capacity.
“Sales were higher this year than the past couple of years,” one CineVegas volunteer proudly informed me.
So, the fest steamed [...]

Hollywood should sit up and take a cue from CineVegas – when it comes to premieres – at least!
Last night’s red carpet event for Fox’s – “The Rocker” – was a splashy high-energy bash – the likes of which – I have not seen in recent days in Tinsel town.
Without doubt, there were two stand-outs [...]
